Hi, My daughter is 4 months old now.she was born with under weight 1.5 kg.in the first 2 months her weight gain was good by end of 2 months she was 3 kgs. but in the next 2 months she hardly gained weight of 1 kg. in the first 2 months it was formula feeding and breastfeeding both.but in 3 & 4th months self feeding is doing. She is doing fine and active but there is no weight gain like earlier.suggest me if I need to put her on Formula feeding only or weight gain is normal for low birth weight baby

A. Hello parent, If your baby's doctor thinks it's necessary, you may have to supplement your baby with additional feedings of either pumped breast milk or infant formula. You can also try to pump and separate your foremilk from your hindmilk. Hindmilk is higher in fat and calories, which can help your baby gain more weight.
