Q.

hi. my daughter 42 months is having severe constipation and is prescribed Relux oral laxative.we are giving her from last 2 years everyday whenever we try to stop giving her that laxative her constipation problem arises again.we are giving her 15 ml everyday.pls suggest

A. Constipation in Babies less than 6 months is very common and more in formula fed babies. you can give bonnisan drops and some enzyme preparations in pdsroper dose suggested by doctor and cow's milk should be avoided before 1 year of age

A. In addition to the medication prescribed by ur Pediatrician, You have to include fiber rich fruits and vegetables in the child's regular diet. Give plenty of water. You can give a ripe banana and raisins daily. An unripe or under ripe banana can worsen the constipation. So choose the banana carefully. Also avoid bakery products like biscuits, cookies, bread, cake etc.,
