Mom of a 4 yr 3 m old girl4 years ago
Q.

Hi, my baby was born at 36 weeks weighing 2.07 kg, by 3 days age she became 1.923 kg, by 6 days age she became 1.928 kg, by 12 days she became 2.054 kg, by 26 days she became 2.32 kg and by 33 days she became 2.59 kg. Please note for the first 4 days of her birth she was fed formula milk as there was no milk from my side, from 5th day of her birth onwards she is completely on breastfeeding only. Her stool and urine output are adequate as per norms, 6 to 7 diaper changes happens in a day minimum. I am very much concerned about her weight gain. Could you please let me know whether her weight gain is on track or there is any quick action is needed for her growth.

A. Hello mom After birth babies lose weight and it is normal so you should not worry about it at all. Baby weight should be triple in a year according to birth weight so you can calculate accordingly. You can continue breastfeeding your baby. And there is no need to give anything else till your baby turned six months old
