hi my baby is two months old and is suffering from blocked nose...can I give maxtra syrup?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 8 yr 1 m old boy6 years agoA. see that temperature is not responsible for causing nasal blockage or there is no irritant like smoke and dust which is causing nasal irritation leading to blockage.change in weather like hot to cold or cold to hot is one of the most common cause of nasal blockage in children. nasal saline drops only resolves blockage for few minutes. you have to find the cause as what is leading to such changes in the child.

Author of questionMom of a 6 yr 3 m old boy6 years agoA. thank u sir, m giving him nasal drops...but still after mid night his nose gets blocked...later doctor prescribed omnix50...but I observed that. baby was restless after taking that syrup...so I stopped it...is it normal..can I continue omnix 50...pls let me know

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 8 yr 1 m old boy6 years agoA. nextra is not for blocked nose. it is given for running nose and increased respiratory secretions. blocked nose you have to give nasal saline drops. it can be placed in the nasal cavity every two to three hourly if there is nasal blockage and the plus point is that it doesn't have any side effect

Manali K MehtaMom of a 10 yr old boy6 years agoA. Hi mam If your pediatrician prescribe then you can give this syrup to your baby. You can give gently massage with Mustard oil good for common cold. you can put chopped onions near him when he sleeping. If possible Consult with your pediatrician on phone because of Corona virus. safety is a our priority for child for proper examination and curing consult with your pediatrician.
