hi my baby is now 7 weeks old having umbilical hernia.i can hear gurgling sounds most frequently and she farts always and thus she is feeling discomfort and cries.is this normal or peculiar in umbilical hernia

ExpertDr Arti SharmaPaediatrician7 years agoA. Hi please get baby evaluated soon If it is umbilical hernia, It will automatically go inside by 1-1.5 years of age Do not do anything don't apply pressure or anything on it. Consult Paediatrician and get diagnosis confirmed once

ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. hi poping out of umbilicus while straining or coughing or passing gases its umbilical hernia in babies and it generally requires no treatment and is healed in some time gases cause discomfort and colic in babies and is common. so give him ample playtime during the day as moving the body keeps the bowel moving and increases apetite improves digestion releases gases. give a a gap of three hours between the feeds so that the previously taken food is digested well

Gastric trouble is very common in all the babies at this age You may apply heeng on the baby's stomach in anti clockwise direction and do hot fermentation to allow the baby to pass gas also do cycling exercises and solve the problem of pain and crankiness
