Q.
hi my baby is getting fever only at night times since last night. her temperature is 98.7 now can u please give any suggestion regarding the same

ExpertDr Mahesh PatilPaediatrician3 years agoA. Hello, your baby girl is 6 years old and her body temperature at night is 98.3 degrees and it’s very normal for any child and she doesn’t need any medicine so give plenty of water

Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alterngative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen bf and mefenamic acid preparations.
cold sponging of the whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .
