Q.

Hi! My baby is 4 m old. I breast feed her for long durations but baby still gets hungry in sometime. So I have to give her formula. Is it due to low milk supply or latching problem? Is it safe to use nipple shield for a 4 m old baby. How to increase milk supply? please help.

A. in first six months the minimum weight gain should be 500 mg per month and it can go up to 1 kg per month also. the urine output should be more than 6 to 7 times per day. the child should sleep after taking feeding. meet the doctor for weight assessmentx. if the above criteria is achieved then the child is having adequate milk intake. if the growth of the child is proper there is no need to worry about the sleeping pattern/ feeding as well as the stool frequencyx of the child
