Q.

Hi, my baby is 10 days old now, at the time of birth he drank meconium and had some treatment then he had neonatal jaundice. Before discharge his haemoglobin count came to 8.9 from 14.7. what should be done now? why it decreased? Plz help.

A. Did the baby have physiological Jaundice or was it something else? You need to consult your pediatrician and take medications for improvement of the hemoglobin as the present levels are very low. A. Hi Mam, thank u for your quick response. The jaundice was reduced and doc released from the hospital but tomorrow we have a repeat test to check the haemoglobin level and bilirubin count.
