Q.

Hi, my baby boy refuses to breastfeed even when hungry. He tries to get out of the lap when I try to feed. Is there any reason for this other than gas/colic.

A. Overstimulation, delayed feedings or a long separation from you might cause fussiness and difficulty nursing. A strong reaction from you to being bitten during breastfeeding might have the same effect. Sometimes a baby is simply too distracted to breastfeed.
