Mom of a 5 yr old boy4 years ago
Q.

hi, My baby boy is 5 months old and he is having watery eyes (only left eye) and has yellow sticky discharge from eyes mostly in the morning after he wakes up and sometimes in the day time as well. This went away after i used a pediatric prescribed eye drop (Tobastar) and mild massage and warm compress around the eyes but it has again re-occurred after a gap of 2-3 months in the same left eye. Is this normal and nothing to worry about and what is the best solution to this problem ?

A. Hello...watery eyes are normal condition in early age..baby's tear duct may not have fully developed yet. continue with tobastar drops You can remove any sticky liquid or crusting by bathing her eye with cooled boiled water and cotton wool. Do massaging the tear duct area twice or thrice a day. Apply medium pressure with clean index finger to the part of your baby's eye closest to the nose and massage downward, toward the nose.
