Q.

Hi, My 3month 15days old baby (born at 33 weeks 5 days) is not making eye contact or turning head to sound. Is it normal for premature baby to be late in these milestones. I am worried a lot for my baby. We consulted to pedia and she has asked to wait for 1 to 1.5 month more. Did anyone face similar issue, please reply. I am very very tensed.

A. yes can wait for now till 4 months age. it is important to follow the instructions opinion advice and medicines course given by your doctor for the problem . they are safe if given by registered medical practitioner. do not take medicines not prescribed by the doctor . take a follow up in few days if it is not improving for need of treatment modification or any lab / radiological investigations.

A. A lot of times I would like to tell you that this is very common with premature kids to reach the milestone maybe a month or two later and your child is born at 33 weeks which is actually 6 to 7 weeks before the right time so obviously the child is going to take some time to reach the milestone which is completely normal
