Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. meningococcal vaccine is an optional vaccine. it is usually given either at 9 months of age and one year of age as a aa 2 dosage regimen or you can go for a single dosage after two years of age.
your doctor is the best person to tell you whether it is required by your child or not.
my personal advice would be that if you can afford the vaccine you should get the child vaccinated for any disease for which vaccine is available
NikithaMom of a 10 yr 9 m old boy3 years agoA. All children ages 11 through 12 years should receive meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) followed by a booster dose at age 16 years. Vaccination is also recommended for all adolescents ages 13 through 18 years who did not receive a dose at age 11-12 years.
