Q.

hi I have been diagnosed with Herpes zoster. I am breastfeeding mother for my 3 months baby. Is it safe to breastfeed? what are the effects of my infection on my baby. I checked with my doctor, they told to cover infected area and not to get her in touch with blister and feed baby but still I am worried.

A. Hello dear parent! Try as much to avoid thr blister contact with your baby. It is tough but sometimes with no other choice left, you will have to do which is the best. Clarify all your concerns from your doctor and follow your doctor’s advice diligently. Eat a well balanced healthy diet and keep yourself hydrated all through the day. Good luck and take care.
