Q.

Hi I have an 8 day old baby, I have flat nibbles initially my baby tried to suck my nipples but now he is not yet trying to suck my nipples, I want to give him breastfeed please help me and give me some suggestions. I tried with a nipple puller but it didn't work. at present by collecting milk with bottle 🍼 am feeding him.

A. dear Mum your motivation to breastfeed is very important so keep it up take guidance from a lactational consultant. you may require to use a breast pump to draw out the nipple before nursing and you may pull back on the breast tissue while your baby is latching thus will help the nipple to protrude. also if baby latches on correctly then inverted nipple is not a problem because baby should latch at the breast and not at the nipple. take care that maximum areola is in mouth of child, lower lip is curled out and chin touches breast .
