Q.
Hi, i am having cracked nipples. Can i use breast pump for pumping milk? Will it damage the nipples more?

Hi,as your baby is newborn the problem you are facing is mostly due to inexperience.If the attachment/latchment is not proper your baby doesn't get adequate milk and baby sucks vigorously on your nipples in frustration.This can lead to cracked nipples.So try and about proper latchment.Secondly expressing milk with breast pump is harmless.wash your nipples with soap water in between feeds,apply some milk cream or your own milk which comes at end of feeding or expression (hind milk)

A. to heal cracked and sore nipple use mamaearth nipple butter cream,it will heal faster and u can start breastfeeding the child.

priyanka aroraMom of a 10 yr 8 m old boy6 years agoA. if you are having cracked nipples and you are feeling pain while breastfeeding your baby then definitely you can express your milk with breast pump and feed your baby with bottle you can also apply nipcare cream it will give relief from cracked nipples
