Q.

Hi, I am following below schedule for my baby. She takes semi solid meals 3 times as breakfast lunch and dinner and up to 3/4th katori every meal. I offer her formula milk 5 times a day and up to 100-120ml per feed. She drinks milk at 8pm and directly takes next milk feed at 7:30am in the morning. Is this ok?

A. Yes Perfectly okay if your child is basically taking a gap of somewhere around 11 to 12 hours which is fine if your child is sleeping properly after taking the last mail then there is nothing that you need to worry about because kids can sleep for that much longer duration without making up for a feed and that’s considered good only

A. Hi This is absolutely okay. The minimum requirement of milk at this age is 500 ml in a day which you are already giving to your baby. Also, as long as your baby is active while she is awake, no worries at all. Lastly, at this age some babies do not wake up for night feedings and they sleep for 10-12 hours at a stretch and then take their next feed. so nothing to worry. What you are following is good enough. One suggestion based on schedule I follow for my baby - rather than giving formula 5 times , make it 4 and replace one feed with snack. At this age, you should now focus more on foods and less on milk. food wil.provide more nutrients to baby. For example - Three meals plus one snack in a day can be mid- morning or evening along with 4 formula feeds.
