Q.

Hi...I am a mother of a 4 month old...and she has got her teeth already...and also she shows interest in food when we have...is it ok to start with solids?

A. No dear mum, it is not right to introduce solid foods at 4 months even if your child shows interest in eating. You should continue to exclusively breastfeed your child till 6 months complete.

A. Exclusive breastfeeding is advisable till the time the baby completes 6 months of age. You can give water or other liquids or solids or semi solids only when the baby completes 6 months. Till then mother's milk takes care of the water and the nutritional requirements of the baby's body. Massage your baby's gums gently with a cold and clean washcloth.
