A. Weight of a baby in the initial months, depends mostly on the birth weight. Ideally, by 5th month, it should double the birth weight. Even if it is little less, there is no need to need to worried. You can start feeding semi solid foods between 5-6 months which can include lentil puree, mashed banana, apple, carrot and pear puree, mixed vegetable soup, khichdi, ragi and sooji porridge, home made cerelac, etc.
