A. Indian hammock is also made my pure white cotton cloth ( both ends are knotted to rope which is hanging from the ceiling, end part of the rope is joined connected to the both ends of wooden rod holders which makes the cloth wide open; this gives the air to let inside the hammock cloth for the baby to breathe). In some kind string is attached to give the baby up and down movement. Babies easily fall asleep in this type of Hammock rather than crib or baby bed. The swinging movement gives the baby a womb like surrounding as baby falls asleep. When in womb the baby gets this swinging movement when mother walks around and sleep.  Hammock imitates the same movement to make the baby feel cozy. In modern day hammock they are using a cushion on which baby is laid over. Earlier days people only use cotton towels or use nothing for the baby while laid in hammock.
