Hi Dr,my baby girl is 20 days old. One of paediatrician suggested gardenal syrup for 7 days due to high serum bilirubin(12.9),but it seems this phenobarbital medicine is also used for epileptic.Is it safe to continue or suggest any other medicine only used to cure for new born jaundice?

Dr GhouseGuardian of 3 children3 years agoA. yes no problem using temporary to improve liver enzymes for further advice in this regard it is advisable to consult your doctor for physical examination and if there is need to do investigations also then only proper treatment can be given
