Q.

hi doctor. this question is for my cousin who is 14 years old. her periods lasts for about a month. she got her last period in November after it in the june. why does it happen?pls help

A. Initially when periods start they are irregular which is quite normal so nothing to worry about it and as the child grows the periods will become normal but still if she is having any other discomfort or pain in lower abdomen or bloating or discharge then consult a gynaecologist and make sure she is not over weight

A. These are basically hormonal changes so I would advise you to consult your doctor ones your gynaecologist would be able to help your cousin for this because sometimes with a period start initially in most of the cases they are regular but sometimes it could be a regular due to hormonal changesWrite Your Answer Here
