hi doctor...my two month old baby passing gas smelly..is it due to indigestion

A. gas is a very common symptom in smaller babies and a matter of concern. Most of the time for caregiver. It is because of immaturity of the gut initially so proper burping should be given after every feed. Try to give exclusive breastfeeding to the baby till six months of age and avoid giving formula milk or cow milk which will aggravate the symptom. Some medicines like enzyme preparation or some kind of anti flatulence medication can be given if the child is above one year of age, a proper diet should be given with a good fibre intake and proper liquid intake. Avoid giving food containing maidagy and too much of oily food stuff

A. Gas is a good sign this way if you look at it at least your child is not crying due to stomach pain that means the digestion is working out proper for the child and smelly gas sometimes could probably be due to constipation issues it is not unnecessarily associated with indigestion
