Q.

hi ...doctor.my son is having dysentery for last 5 days . initially we consulted doctor who gave him OFM DS and afetr 4 does recovery was not that much. so we consulted another doctor who asked to stop OFM ds and started zifi 0 100 . the first day of dysentery he faced fever but then all was good till we changed this medicine. But now he again have fever from last one day . Any idea why this happened..??

A. Loose motion most of the time is because of some infection which could be viral or bacterial and in such case it is associated with symptoms like fever along with vomiting and loss of appetite . supportive treatment is very necessary where proper hydration should be maintained by givibcng OvfRS along with that probiotic can be given like enterogermina or econorm in a proper dose . Antibiotics has their role only if it is bacterial infection . for this doctor guidance is necessary .
