Hi doctor.. My son is 6 years and 1 month old now.. after covid he started his schooling by this June only after joining school he is often getting into cold and cough atleast twice a month.. So suggest me good remedy measures to be taken.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough neefdds to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a progper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

for this ,I would suggest to keep him well hydrated.
give sunlight atleast 20 minutes a day.
dress him with weather appropriate clothes.
avoid cold and windy climate
keep his head and ears covered well whenever you go outside in this winter days
give Healthy diet
give Tulsi leaves with pinch of salt and Turmeric powder and few drops of lemon juice daily in morning.
