Q.

Hi Doctor. my son is 4 YEARS OLD. he is passing watery stools today i.e on fourth day of his medicines. he had minor stomach infection n had vomitted so doctor prescribed enterogermina. tomorrow is the last day of his medicines. i m worried . will the watery stools stop.

A. Hello, your baby boy is 4 years old and he is having a watery stool since last 4 days so mostly he may be having a dehydration and needs ORS and econorm sachets two times a day

A. Loose motion most of the time is because of some infection which could be viral or bacterial and in such case it is associated with symptoms like fever along with vomiting and loss of appetite . supportive treatment is very necessary where proper hydration should be maintained by giving ORS altrong with that probiotic can be given like enterogermina or econorm in a proper dose . Antibiotics has their role only if it is bacterial infection . for this doctor guidance is necessary .
