Q.

Hi Doctor , my daughter will turn 6 month on this 13th. I am using neosmile drops since she was 2 and half month old. as per pediatrician she was lactose intolerant. He prescribed drops for 1 month. but after 1 month when I stop using it she Again started the symptoms. colic, excessive crying in night and undigested milk in stool. So pediatrician advice to give for 3 months. 3 months are over. I gave 4 drops before feeding when I started using it. now I am giving only 2 drops before every feed. but now she is having same symptoms in low manner. I am afraid she becomes addicted to the drops and if her stomach will able to produce lactase by itself or not? should I stop it.? when she will recover from this?

A. avoid daily basis it is important for you to understand that any medicine except multivitamins which is given to children have side effects on the child. they should not be given on daily basis but should be given only when required. meet your doctor who will tell you what is the indication and how many times it can be given. (this applies to anti-colic medicines as well as digestive medicines/ enzymes, gripe water, bonnisan, gutti etc of any branch that is allopathic or homoeopathicz or ayurvedic).
