hi doctor my daughter is only 17 days old she having hiccups its normal

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. hiccups in children occur due to gas which is present in the stomach.
during the feeding process child takes air along with milk and that air goes inside the sxtomach which irritates leading to hiccups.
you have to offer feeding as well as do proper burping(for atleast 20 minutes) to decrease this problem and it is a self limiting problem
during hicxcups just give breastfeeding again and keep the child in upright position for burping which will stop the episode
