hi Doctor., my Daughter is 3yr 11months old.. she is suffering from cough.. severely.. as i had suffered with asthma at my childhood... i am very much tensed about that. please suggest me when i should take her to doctor.. and give her antibiotics

Author of questionMom of 2 children2 years agoA. she is sensitive to sweet and cool breeze.. severe cough.. from July we are using antibiotics minimum once a month for cough itself.. prescribed by doctor.. so i thought of not taking her to doctor this time.. but i am tensed of cough... should l take take to check up sir.. is it ok to use antibiotics many times

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussguives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.j if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
