Q.

Hi Doctor My daughter is 3 years old, most of the time she is getting viral fever, lasting for 3 to 4 days, it's coming very frequently. Suddenly the temperature increased and a few hours later it decreased, can you suggest what I should do.

A. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried hout for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water. higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.

A. Get a blood test done that is going to give you a better and clear picture about what is the situation as that is going to be good because once you conduct a blood test you know what exactly the problem is it some infection or some bacterial infection that you need to take care of and accordingly the doctor would be able to give you proper help on that
