hi doctor my daughter is 1 month old. she s passing green colour stools from the day she is born .. now she is 1 month old she is still passing green stools 5 to 6 times a day. kindly suggest what to be done.

SadhanaMom of a 3 yr 9 m old girl1 Year agoA. if you are breastfeeding, may be it could be foremilk, baby should get hindmilk which is fat filled, try feeding one side of your breast for long like atleast 20 min, this helps your baby to get hindmilk and the stool will be yellow.
green color is not a cause of concern.If you are giving iron supplements for your newborn this can also cause green stool.

Initially a child passes green coloured motion only and that’s very normal and common and it becomes more prominent if the child is on formula feeding so if you are giving any kind of formula feeding then that could be one of the biggest reasons for green coloured motion for your child
