Q.

Hi Doctor, My baby is 49 days old. In the morning she ejected water from nose. Yesterday she ejected curdled milk from nose. We usually burp her for 15 to 20 mins and keep her in upright position after feeding. Is this normal? We are hiving her neopeptine drops thrice a day 10 mins after feeding. Please suggest.

A. it's not normal.. ,baby's nose is connected to the back of her throat. This means spit-up will sometimes come out her nose instead of her mouth. Make each feed calm and relaxed. Hold your baby in an upright position, not lying down, while you feed them. Feed your baby smaller amounts at a time. Feed your baby without delay. Burp your baby several times during each feeding. Keep baby upright for 30 minutes after feeding and Make the child sleep in propped up position. Clean the nose well. If she is not gaining weight, consult ur paediatrician.
