Q.

Hi doctor,my baby is 23 days old she has cold from last night , gave nasal saline drops ...can I use any syrup or no needed..??

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part ofhj viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

A. If The child is having blocked nose and nasal drops are good enough to go for but if your child is having a running nose along with blocked nose then you should definitely give a medicine after consulting your doctor otherwise it is going to be more irritating for your child
