Hi Doctor, My baby 2yr 10 months old. 2 days before my baby fell down by bed and got hurt to head backside and got a small bump. She cried for 10 mins and normal asusal not having any symptoms. Is it normal for baby. and I am using ibuprofen syrup.

A. Any Fall injury specially head injury needs to be assessed properly . In any such case certain symptoms needs to be checked like loss of consciousness reccurrent vomiting or any abnormal moment or convulsions . Such case needs immediate medical intervention as there could be some internal injury . Otherwise application of ice locally to reduce the swelling and pain can be done along with some analgesic like paracetamol. Recurrent fall injury for a child should be avoided as it can lead to some chronic manifestations occasionally . Also teetth injury hshould be rule out in any such case which is commonly associated and can be easily missed out most of the time .
