Q.

Hi , Can we feed honey(3 drops) for one time for just born baby (7 days), as part of some traditional events in home. Any precautions or suggestions here . Thanks,

A. It would be good to avoid.. This is because honey can, very occasionally, contain spores of a bacterium..called clostridium botulinum. This can cause a rare form of food poisoning know as( botulism) in babies.

A. thank you Doctor. we had just 3 drops , and we completely avoided. Any suggestion for reduce Saliva.

A. hi dear Clostridium bacteria that cause infant botulism usually thrive in soil and dust. They also can contaminate some foods — honey, in particular. Infant botulism can cause muscle weakness, with signs like poor sucking, a weak cry, constipation, and decreased muscle tone (floppiness).
