A. It's common for babies around 2 months old to put their fingers in their mouths and suck on them, even after feeding. This behavior is usually not an indication of hunger but is related to other factors: 1. Self-Soothing: Babies often suck on their fingers as a way to comfort themselves. It helps them feel secure and calm. 2. Exploring: At this age, babies start to discover their hands and mouths. Sucking on fingers is part of how they explore their environment and body. 3. Natural Reflex: Babies have a strong sucking reflex that doesn’t go away immediately after feeding, so they might continue to suck their fingers or hands. 4. Teething Preparation: Though teething typically starts later, some babies may begin to experience discomfort in their gums, and sucking can provide relief. As long as your baby is feeding well, gaining weight appropriately, and seems satisfied after feedings, this behavior is normal and not a cause for concern. You can gently redirect them if necessary, but there's usually no harm in letting them continue to explore their fingers.
