Q.

Help with feeding the baby Hi, My baby just turned 6 months. I have started feeding semi-solids to him in the morning, Washington Red Apple puree (soup like thick texture). Day 1: 3 tbsp + water + milk Day 2: 4 tbsp + water + milk Day 3: 4 tbsp + water + milk Day 4: 6 tbsp + water + milk Day 5: 5 tbsp + water + milk (had prepared 8 tbsp) Queries: 1. Baby cries a lot while feeding and does not open the mouth by himself. Only first 2-3 tbsp he eats willingly. Should we continue feeding the baby else he will feel hungry? 2. Should we give water in between the feeds or only after the puree is finished? 3. Is the thickness fine of the Apple puree as shown in attached image? 4. Should we switch to some other fruit like Elaichi Banana or continue feeding Apple puree for next 2 days? 5. Any other tips/feedback in case we are doing something wrong?

A. Hi, Everything you are doing great. Make food little watery by adding little water in it. Don't give water while feeding. Give 3-5 times meal and in between offer your breastmilk. Distract the baby by singing bhazan, lullaby while feeding. In this way, baby will have more meal. Don't do forceful feeding. Give suji kheer oats kheer mashed potatoes mashed banana apple puree khichdi daliya seasonal fruits and vegetables soups etc
