Q.
Helloo.. Im a mother of 1.4 yr old son. Till last month my son was saying a lot of words like papa..baba...nana...mumma... and he even used to say like when he saw a dog he used to say bhau..bhau and now he has stopped saying those words altogether... He used to chant baba...baba...day and night and now he has stopped saying anything...sometimes he says nana..but nothing else.. Other than this he is a very active boy always running around the house throwing things.. but sometimes he takes his blanket and sleeps on the bed and it looks like he is thinking something.. I just want to know is it okay if he has stopped saying all the words he used to say ??

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy3 years agoA. proper language / speech development will start between 18 months of age to 3 years of age.
there is no need to worry before that just concentrate on the diet and regular interaction with the child.
also speech and language develops properly with more people available to interact with the child
avoid usage of tv mobile and laptop because they are the most common reasons for delayed speech and language development.
the most important thing is that before speech, understanding of the commands given by thef parents should be present.c
by 18 months if the child is not following basic commands then only you have to meet the doctor for speechc and development assessment.
requirement of speech therapy will also be discussed by your doctor.

usually it is normal
but please make sure your child is well cared and feel safe and secured.
give your enough time to your child.
keep your child away from screens like tv mobile iPad etc
