Q.

Hello, My daughter is 2year 1 month but she is not speaking yet. She just says some words like shoe, hai, bye, two, come, chee. She talks gibberish always. She knows to say mama, papa, thata but says that only when she likes saying it but most of the time she addresses everyone as ‘ba’. Even her dad was a late speaker and he started speaking when he was 2 year plus. So should I take her to speech therapist or should I give her some more time?

A. Hello dear parent! Try as much to frequently speak to your child. Do not worry the child will pick up soon. As long as your baby is active and healthy, understanding and responding well it is alright. Try more communicating. Few elders suggest to give a teaspoon of honey in the morning for better health and speech. Good luck and take care.
