Q.

Hello! My baby is 67 days old. She is an IUGR and a late preterm baby. She weighed 2.3 kg when she was born and when we went for the last check up she was 3.2 kg. She won't breastfeed nor latch the bottle properly. She has feeding problems and also a very small perimembranous in her heart. She has got alot of wrinkles on her body except for her face. I had low amniotic fluid since 6th month and a doctor says that she is extremely dehydrated because of which the wrinkles. Another doctor says that she might have Cutis Laxa. What are the chances that my baby has that condition? I read that it is a very rare genetic disorder and see that babies with Cutis Laxa have Hyperextensible joints and bones but my baby doesn't have that problem. Am worried since the doctor said that. My baby's wrinkles are still the same. There is some improvement but very less. How long will it take for her to become normal? If she is extremely dehydrated is there anything that I can give her to make her skin normal.

A. To know whether baby is having Cutis laxa... u need to go for Genome sequencing. Else Dr can only do guess work. better go for Genome sequencing so that u can clear any confusion.

A. To add up to my question above.. my baby was asked to give a top feed after breastfeeding. Since she has latching issues she couldn't breastfeed continuously for atleast 15 minutes so far. If she latches, she sleeps in 2 minutes. I have to pump and give her my milk in a bottle. I refrigerate the extra milk and later thaw and feed my baby. I hardly feed formula because it takes a lot of time for me to feed 40 ml of breastmilk and then she sleeps. What can I do to increase her fat? I was told that I have to feed her continuously but that never happens. She is always tired and also has a nasal congestion. She never sleeps continuously for 3 hours. Sometimes she sleeps for 5 hours at a stretch. Her sleeping pattern is messed up.
