A. Hi parent, Babies cry for various reasons not only hunger, like when they are bored, hot or cold temperatures, dirty diaper, uncomfortable clothing, hair around toe, gassy pain, mosquito bites etc. Try to soothe baby accordingly figuring out the cause. Keep a cool and calm environment at night and keep lights and noise level low. Dont talk or interact with baby when he wakes up at night. Keep day time well lit and play or do lot of activities. Baby could be having teething pain after around 4 months. So try to give a gentle massage to baby's gums with a soft cotton cloth or finger brush. Give a chilled teether or washcloth for relief from teething pain. Babies usually should double their birth weight by 5th month and triple birth weight by 1 year. So feed baby accordingly figuring out his nutritional requirements and as directed by baby's pediatrician For gas problem make sure you burp baby after every feed. Walk around with baby's head on your shoulder and supporting her neck gently bounce. It is fine for breastfed babies to not poop for upto 5 days . Give tummy time daily for a few minutes multiple times. Gently massage your baby's tummy with castor oil with fingers and keep a warm water towel for few minutes. Cycle baby's legs with your hands gently after every feed. Also keep baby upright in standing position holding with your hands for support few minutes after feed. This helps the poop to travel down with gravity.  If you have tried everything and baby is still crying uncontrollably for a long time, then you can give gripe water or bonnisan or colicaid drops occasionally and not daily.
