A. Dear parent, weight of 4 kg is absolutely normal for one and half months old baby. Baby should gain at least 500 grams per month and should double the birth weight by 6 months.

A. Mostly birth weight determines the development of babies in the initial few years. At 1.5 months, ideal weight can be between 4.2 to 4.7 depending entirely on birth weight. Your baby is fine. Keep feeding him frequently, atleast in every 2-3 hours. If breastfeeding, then you should feed for 7-10 times a day and if formula milk then 6-8, which includes waking him up for feed in the night too.
