Q.

Hello My baby has body temperature of 37.1°C / 99°F on measuring at armpit. She feels warm head, back and palms. Gave her paracetamol drops yesterday night two times, still her temperature is Same today. is that fever?? also, I have a doubt that do we need to add 1° to what we measure from armpit temperature??

A. Hi. Head in small babies is slightly warmer than normal, because they have an increased blood supply in the developing brain. So nothing to worry. Armpit temperature more than 99.5 F, is fever. Not below that.

A. hello, no degree to be added. and for such a small baby it isn't fever. the point is their body is not able to regulate the temperature yet so body parts like head, armpit, palms are hotter. the body temperature should be checked
