POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. Urine leakage during the day and bedwetting at night in a 6-year-old girl can be due to several common reasons, and it’s important to address it gently without making her feel embarrassed. This condition is called daytime incontinence and nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting).
Possible Reasons: Bladder immaturity or small bladder capacity Constipation pressing on the bladder Urinary tract infection (UTI) Stress or emotional changes Deep sleep making it hard to wake for urination Delayed toilet training habits What You Can Do: Encourage regular toilet visits – every 2–3 hours during the day. Limit liquids 1–2 hours before bedtime. Avoid constipation – give fiber-rich food and plenty of water. Use a toilet reminder chart – gently encourage and praise dry days/nights. Avoid punishment or shaming – be patient and supportive. Consult a pediatrician – especially if there is burning, urgency, or accidents started suddenly.
With consistent care, most children outgrow it, but a doctor can rule out medical causes if needed. Let me know if you want a routine chart to help manage it.
