Q.

Hello My 18 months old daughter is having severe loose motions. Dr has prescribed o2 syrup. Does this help?

A. Yes..give as per prescribed 1)Give ORS to the baby at regular intervals to keep dehydration at bay. 2)Rice kanji, buttermilk, lentil soup, coconut water is good during loose motion. 3)Banana,Apple and curd-rice is one of the best during loose motion. 4)If you are breastfeeding your baby then you should continue feeding your child. 5)Keep the diet simple and bland,like boiles carrot puree, boiled potatoes, daal- Khichdi,sabudana kheer. You can add nutmeg, fennel seeds, ginger in preparation. 6) Avoid dairy products. No glucose water. 7)Do Consult your paedritician if stool consistency is watery, foul smelling, more frequent, bloody, pee count is less than 5-6 times.

A. Hello and good evening you may give the baby cold lemon tea with a pinch of salt and roasted makhanas and also give the baby banana it will help to hold the stomach a little and avoid loose motions
