Q.
hello, My 14 month old son has cough from last 15 days.Doctor gave medicines for 5 days , two cough syrup - 1. tixylix cough syrup 2. L-Ventex syrup and the medicine course is completed. he got better after the medicines but now again he has cold cough and also from today morning he got fever, I gave crocin syrup which my pediatrician recommended to give him but fever comes back again. what to do ??

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. any cough most of the time either it could be allergic or infective which needs proper evaluation. initially you can start by giving steam inhalation to your baby which will help in relieving symptoms to some extent and will make the baby comfortable.for small baby should be given indirectly from a distance.cough suppressants are usually avoided in children,it needs to be examined first before giving antany kind of medicine. so it will be better if you consult your doctor for proper guidance along with proper dosage for the kind of problem.
