Q.

hello mam my baby is 4 month old baby he poops once in 4 days since last 2-3 months ,his weight is 5.5 kg currently is it normal , he is on breastfeeding and having colic frequently and cries a lot . please guide ...

A. Constipation in Babies less than 1 year is very common and more in formula fed babies and also when initially the semi solid food has been started as after 6 months . you can give bonnisan drops and some enzyme preparations in proper dose suggested by doctor and cow's milk should be avoided before 1 year of age . Medications are required but it should be given only in medical supervision .

A. Hello there maam please do not worry about it too much. Baby weight depends on birth weight and normally doubles by the age of six months and triples by the age of one year. If baby is active and taking feed properly then no need to panic. Mother should take healthy food items including fresh fruits and dry fruits. Please massage baby stomach with BabyHug coconut oil clockwise and anti-clockwise. You can also apply hing water on baby stomach. Also do some cycling leg exercises of the baby to relieve from constipation and gas. Please make the baby burp after every feed. Mother should chew saunf and ajwain after every meal.
