A. For an 8-month-old baby who has started solids, a typical feeding routine might include: ### **Frequency of Solid Meals:** 1. **Three Main Meals:** - **Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner**: Aim to offer three main solid meals each day. These meals can include a variety of pureed or mashed fruits, vegetables, cereals, and proteins. 2. **Snacks:** - **1-2 Snacks**: You can also offer 1-2 snacks between meals if your baby is hungry. Snacks could include small amounts of fruit, yogurt, or a teething biscuit. ### **Daily Meal Plan Example:** - **Breakfast**: Mashed banana or a small bowl of oatmeal. - **Mid-Morning Snack**: A small piece of soft fruit or a few puffs. - **Lunch**: Pureed vegetables with a bit of rice or lentils. - **Afternoon Snack**: A few pieces of soft-cooked veggies or a small yogurt. - **Dinner**: Mashed sweet potatoes with a bit of chicken or tofu. ### **Additional Considerations:** - **Breast Milk or Formula**: Continue to offer breast milk or formula 3-4 times a day. Solid foods should complement, not replace, these main sources of nutrition. - **Variety and Texture**: Gradually introduce a variety of textures and flavors to help your baby get used to different foods. - **Responsive Feeding**: Pay attention to your baby’s hunger and fullness cues. Adjust portion sizes and frequencies based on their appetite and growth. Always consult with your pediatrician or a registered dietitian if you have specific concerns about your baby’s diet or feeding routine.
