hello I have given honey to my 2 months old baby 2 times recently.. After that I have read that honey should not be given? is it correct? and is there something to worry about if I have already given ?

A. Yes, for further advice, honey should be avoid till 1 year of age ad honey can, very occasionally, contain a spore of a bacterium called clostridium botulinum. This can cause a rare form of food poisoning (botulism) in babies.

A. Yes, babies younger than 1 year old should not be given honey. Clostridium bacteria that cause infant botulism usually thrive in soil and dust. They also can contaminate some foods — honey, in particular.
