Q.

hello, I am arpeeta. my baby boy is 5 year 3 months old. he had fever on last October, the fever subsided after taking antibiotics. again, he had fever on November, the fever automatically subsided after 3 days without any antibiotics. again, he had fever on January 2022,which again subsided automatically after 3 days without the help of antibiotics. he got fever again in march just 3 days back, and the fever again subsided after 3 days and he didn't need any antibiotics. I just want to know that, is it normal for a 5 year kid to have fever in a gap of 1 month to 1.5 months??? Is there something to worry about?

A. yes this can happen your history tells us that the child is suffering from viral fever and in viral fever you have to give only symptomatic treatment that is for fever have to give paracetamol(max 4 times per day if needed) and plenty of water to drink and at least 60 to 70% of the regular diet and if the fever continues beyond 3 days then meet the doctor
