Q.

Hello Dr. My twin nephew the age of 3 yrs who both have blood range 9.6gm.is that normal. Their dr. said that they both Anaemiatic and they both should have blood atleast 12gm. otherwise we should inject or transfuse the blood/blood injection and also said that may be cause thalassemia. is it possible the child cause thalassemia without any genetic history in the family. Kindly revert your valuable response.

A. If either of the parents are carriers then there is a chance for the babies to get the disorder. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves first give iron Medications and see

A. Hi Mam.. thank you for your valuable response.. Mam please clear one thing is that there is no chance to get thalassemia without any parents history of thalassemia.. because in family there is no history about that disease.
